"The planet Jupiter reaches west quadrature on Monday, August 1. Any celestial object is said to be at west quadrature whenever it lies 90 degrees west of the sun in our sky. For example, the moon is always at west quadrature at last quarter moon.
Like the last quarter moon, a planet at west quadrature is seen in the morning sky, usually in the hours between midnight and sunrise. If you’re up during the predawn and dawn hours, it’ll be hard to miss Jupiter. It’s the brightest starlike object to light up the morning sky."

Earth's Trojan Asteroid
"Astronomers have detected an asteroid not far from Earth, moving in the same orbit around the Sun.
The 200-300m-wide rock sits in front of our planet at a gravitational "sweet spot", and poses no danger.
It's position in the sky makes it a so-called Trojan asteroid- a type previously detected only at Jupiter, Neptune and Mars."

Globalization and the Uranus-0-Neptune
By French astrologer Andre Barbault:
"When working on mundane astrology and taking a worldwide view of history, one aligns oneself on the consistency of repetitive astral returns – such as the Uranus Neptune conjunctions of 1136, 1307, 1478, 1649 and 1821. One then notices that, since the discovery of these two planets, the history of Man on Earth has taken a new dimension, as evidenced by the metamorphosis of world society in the past two centuries and the radical transformation of everyday life that has taken place in the past few generations.
Planetary cycles remain the basis of a cyclic time where, from one conjunction to the other, a return of the same occurs, which gives a sense of history as a continuous link of events stretching across time and space. It is upon the Uranus Neptune conjunction in the first degrees of Sagittarius in 1479, through which Jupiter and Saturn also moved from 1485 to 1488, that the great explorers take over the oceans: Dias passes the Cape of Good Hope and Christopher Columbus is just about to land in America (1492). The globe as a whole is embraced by man who starts travelling it : it is the beginning of the great expeditions which will lead Europe to the colonization of the globe. We will see the continuation of this movement when the same planets move through Sagittarius. In the same manner, an extraordinary industrial revolution takes place, giving birth to our modern society, when the following conjunction occurs in 1821 in the first degrees of Capricorn.
Starting in 1992-1993, the conjunction Uranus Neptune is there again, still in Capricorn, that Saturn went through in 1988-1989, then Jupiter in 1997. This same society is still in its full renewal.
The basic manifestation of these configurations is the conjunction: a synod or meeting of stars, which forms a kind of cosmic egg. This cosmic egg recurs; it is a unity of celestial bodies the alignment of which is the true symbol of an end and a renewal in history, with a basic trend towards unification."

Leo New Moon & Mercury Retrograde
The July 30 New Moon in Leo the Lion features Mercury at the first degree of Virgo, where it stations-retrograde 3 days later. Mercury's quite happy in discriminating Virgo, but it's -180- with Neptune tends to diffuse focus and further mental confusion, although creative thinking may benefit.
The planet of communication backs into Leo Aug. 8, and stations-direct(at 19 Leo) on Aug. 28. Although Mercury tends to act out it's trickster side when retrograde, the best way to use the retro-period is to review and revise one's agenda, so when Mercury shifts forward we're prepared to go ahead with greater clarity and effectiveness. Of course, the house in one's birth chart with the last 11 degrees of Leo show us where this is taking place. The affairs of that house are most directly affected, and also the natal houses with Gemini and Virgo(both Mercury ruled) on the cusp.
Sol is dignified in the sign of it's domicile at the New Moon which gives it pride of place in bringing about all that Leo loves- to shine brightly and affirm the self. The conjunction of Venus to the New Moon suggests warm displays of love- while the square from Jupiter expands affections and/or creative self-expression, that's somehow original(Uranus trine New Moon).
This New Moon at 7 Leo conjoins Praesape M44 the Beehive nebula, in the shell of the constellation Cancer the Crab. According to legend, "Praesaepe represents the manger of the asses, the Aselli; gamma (γ Asellus borealis) and delta (δ Asellus Australis); ridden by Bacchus and Vulcan. A coarse extended cluster situated on the head of the Crab. Popularly termed the Beehive, Manger or Crib, and known by the Chinese under the name Tseih She Ke, Exhalation of Piled-up Corpses. With the Aselli it was the "cloudy spot of Cancer" mentioned by Ptolemy as causing blindness [V.Robson]
According to Vehlow, the Chinese gave this group of stars (the manger, Praesaepe along with North and South Asellus) in Cancer the name "the spirit of the ancestors" and were of the opinion that if conjunct the Moon they would have peculiar experiences with the realms of the dead. [Fixed Stars and Their Interpretation, Elsbeth Ebertin]
The two Asses outflank the "Manger" (Praesaepe). This might be the origin, as seen in nativity pictures of the birth of Christ, of the positioning of a donkey always behind the manger.* [Fixed Stars and Their Interpretation, Elsbeth Ebertin]
*The baby born in a manger might relate to the idea of Cancer being the 'Gate of Men', according to Chaldaean and Platonist philosophy, through which souls descended from heaven into human bodies, or into creation. Its opposite sign Capricornus represents the 'Gate of the Gods' where souls of the departed ascended back to heaven.
It is of the nature of Mars and the Moon, and causes disease, disgrace, adventure, insolence, wantonness, brutality, blindness, industry, order and fecundity; and makes its natives fortunate though liable to loss through others, and the founders of large businesses. [V.Robson]
According to Robson Praesaepe, the "Beehive Cluster", makes "founders of large businesses", that might reflect the buzzing, 'busy' bees of a beehive going about their business." (Constellation of Words website)
Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has no planets conjunct Praesaepe, but natal Venus(what he loves and values) is opposite the Beehive. Perhaps more importantly, his Sun/Saturn(midpoint) of authority, control, and limitations, is being activated by the epic Uranus/Pluto(midpoint)- which reflects the current mass archetypal trend of 'building on the ruins of the old- revolution and transformation'. Mercury, the significator of communication and media, was aligned with the Uranus/Pluto(20 Aquarius) at the July 14-15 Full Moon, as a phone-hacking scandal forced Mr. Murdoch to terminate his popular News of the World newspaper.
The dwarf planet Ceres- the Great Mother goddess of harvest and agriculture, turned around on the Vernal point-0 Aries this month. Whenever a celestial body crosses 0 Aries, it not only begins a new zodiacal journey, but comes strongly to the fore in the collective mind and consciousness. Food prices have been on the increase of late, which is bad news for the billions of people already on the edge. (Grain prices have doubled in the last year. The word cereal derives from Ceres.) And the UN has just declared the famine in southern Somalia a humanitarian disaster. While recent news about the declining state of the world's oceans is another a worrisome development of great concern, for anyone who cares about our natural environment.
Moreover, the nuclear crisis in Fukushima is ongoing, with deadly repercussions for the whole planet. (Uranus was at 0 Aries when the meltdown took place.)
The antiscia or shadow/mirror point of the Leo New Moon is 23 Taurus, conjunct the last Jupiter-0-Saturn('Great Conjunction') of May 2000 that relates to the cyclical ebb and flow of empires and economies. This subtle but relevant contact reflects the broader significance of world events occurring around the time of the July 30 New Moon- especially pertaining to financial matters, i.e. raising the US debt ceiling before a disastrous default is allowed to occur.
Any US horoscope for July 1776 has the Moon's North Node(Rahu) at 6 Leo, which means the July 30 New Moon is activating this point of 'manifest destiny' in the national chart.

Norway and the Solar Eclipse
The July 22, 2009 longest solar eclipse(29 Cancer) of the the 21st century fell on the Midheaven in Fukushima, and conjoined the Ascendant in Oslo, Norway. Saturn(-90- Venus) precisely on the eclipse IC-4th house cusp suggests hardships(Saturn) in the homeland(4th house). Clearly, this powerful eclipse is still active 2 years later.

Hubble Finds 4th Moon of Pluto
From BBC News - Science & Environment:
"Astronomers using the Hubble Space Telescope have identified another moon around the dwarf planet Pluto. It becomes the fourth object known to be circling the distant world after the long-recognised Charon and recently observed Nix and Hydra satellites.
Scientists are temporarily calling the new moon P4 and estimate its diameter to be 13 to 34 km (of 8 to 21 miles).
Pluto, controversially demoted from full planet status in 2006, will be the target of a big space mission in 2015.
Nasa's New Horizons probe is due to fly past the icy world and should get a good look at the moons, also.
"This is a fantastic discovery," said New Horizons' principal investigator Alan Stern of the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colorado. "Now that we know there's another moon in the Pluto system, we can plan close-up observations of it during our flyby."
P4 sits between the orbits of Nix and Hydra, which Hubble identified in 2005. The space telescope did not discover Charon- that was done by the US Naval Observatory in 1978- but it was the first astronomical instrument to resolve it as a separate body from Pluto.
For comparison, Pluto itself is a little over 2,300km across, Charon about 1,200km in diamter, and Nix and Hydra in the range of 30 to 115km across.
Hubble first saw P4 with its new Wide Field Camera 3 on 28 June. Follow-up observations this month confirmed its existence.
New Horizons will fly by Pluto in the July of 2015. The spacecraft's seven instruments will carry out detailed mapping of the object's surface features, composition and atmosphere.
The probe will go to about 10,000km from Pluto and about 27,000km from Charon, before pressing onwards.
With extra Nasa approval and funding, the probe will then be maintained to travel on to other objects in the Kuiper Belt, a region of space that contains many frozen leftovers from the construction of our Solar System.
The $700m probe was launched in 2006, the same year the International Astronomical Union- astronomy's offical nomenclature body- decided Pluto no longer merited full planet status, giving it the new classifcation of dwarf planet."

The Eclipse and the New Milleneum
By Roy Gillet, for The Astrological Society of Great Britain:
"Why is the eclipsed union of the Sun and the Moon on 11th August 1999 "the astrological entry point to the new millennium"?
Nicholas Campion's succinctly put claim on the cover of the brochure for the Astrological Association's 1999 Annual Conference needs to be seen in its full astrological context to understand its force.
The eclipse of the Sun in its own sign of Leo occurs at a crucial corner of a grand cross combining Mars in its ruling Sign of Scorpio, Uranus in its ruling Sign of Aquarius, and Saturn (with Jupiter approaching) in Taurus - all Fixed Signs. In addition, for several weeks afterward, the dominance of fixed planets increases to the point where every one except for Pluto is in a fixed sign. Looking ahead to May 2000, we see all seven of the traditional planets in Taurus.
This dominance of fixed energy, combined with the Leo eclipse and hence a fixed Aquarius/Leo nodal axis, has very powerful symbolism. Fixed ideas (Aquarius) confront fixed egos (Leo), while both are at odds with fixed emotions (Scorpio) and a fixed attitude towards possessions (Taurus). Fixed energy is the basis of world structures. Hence, the ability to "get around" and avoid issues that has dominated world and individual affairs for some years, will no longer be an option. Nations, economies, and individuals will be confronted with reality. Decisions will have to be made and organisations established that are real and lasting.
In ecology, we can already see this happening in the debates on cloning and genetic engineer-ing. In finance, the G7/8 nations are attempting to manage the world economy out of potential disaster. In politics, the pressure to solve issues such as Kosova, Kurdistan, Kashmir, Iraq and Palestine intensifies. In personal lives avoidance of secrets becomes more difficult, as Bill Clinton and Peter Mandelson have found. Laws that restrict individual freedom are being brought in - "zero tolerance" police regimes and immediate confiscation of New York's drunk drivers cars are two examples. Check for others in your area.
Symbolically, the four Fixed Signs are represented by the Lion, the Bull, the Water Carrier and the Eagle. These signs are crucially shown on the twentieth card of the Tarot's Major Acarna - the card of The Last Judgement. The Fixed grand cross has been called the Cross of the Christ. Hence the imagery of judgement, before a major re-awakening of consciousness is focused on this time. The numeric changing of the calendar from 1900s to 2000s is adding to public consciousness of a new beginning. The breakdown (which has been building to this point throughout the 20th century) of old assumptions is becoming stronger. We are at that crisis point of moral uncertainty that comes before a new ethical system emerges.
This crisis of values and authority is leading to rampant fundamentalism in a "last ditch" attempt to go back to the past. It can be seen in all the world's major religions - Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism and even Buddhism, as well as ethnic nationalism. Such fixed attitudes point to sources of potential disaster, that could bring great suffering and war. Trying to see humanity as one people with common needs - the higher, ultimate fundamentalism - is the challenge of this time, which could build a more enlightened and happier world.
With Uranus and Neptune in Aquarius, the emphasis on electronic technology that brings in-form-ation and other-people access to in-dividuals throughout the world will continue to accelerate. It will challenge beliefs systems, based on narrow cultural assumptions, through into the next century and beyond. Increasingly technology is offering "virtual" satisfaction to desires, that people in the past had to work towards for whole lifetimes. The decisions of moral choice this forces upon us can only intensify.
Eclipses have been found to mark changes, whose influences grow for many months after the event. Because the 11th August 1999 event is so integrated with the larger cosmic picture, it is correct to claim that it will be "the astrological entry point to the new millennium". AAGB Journal
Here is a Google map of the Aug. 11, 1999 solar eclipse path. I remember this eclipse well because it got me interested in mundane astrology, as I saw the linkage between the 7.4 Izmit earthquake and this eclipse whose path crossed directly over Turkey only 6 days earlier. The eclipse chart cast for Ankara, Turkey's capital, puts the Ascendant at 25 Scorpio(-180- the malefic star Algol), with Pluto(8 Sag) exactly(2' orb) square the eclipse MC-IC axis(8 Virgo-Pisces).
Interestingly- the path of the Aug. 1999 solar eclipse began near the northeast coast of the US. And the eclipse chart for New York City, has the Midheaven at 25 Taurus conjunct the malefic star Algol- the Medusa's Head, 13 months before the Twin Towers fell. Moreover, Venus(18 Leo 42), ruler of the 9/11 attack chart Ascendant(14 Libra), was on the Aug. 11, 1999 solar eclipse degree(18 Leo 21).
The Aug. 1999 solar eclipse belongs to Saros series 145 that began with it's first eclipse on Jan. 4, 1639. Casting the 1639 eclipse chart for New York City we see amazing synastry with the 9/11 attack chart, with angles in the same degrees. And the 9/11 Neptune(6 Aquarius) that was conjunct the US natal Ketu(Moon's South Node- 6 Aquarius) at the time, also hit the Jan. 4, 1639 eclipse ruler Saturn(6 Aquarius)!
And then consider the subsequent invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq that were made possible by 9/11- the 'milleneum eclipse' of Aug. 1999 was indeed a dramatic portent of coming events.
If we cast the Aug. 1999 solar eclipse chart for Jakarta, Indonesia, we find the Midheaven at 26 Scorpio- which puts the IC-4th house cusp at 26 Taurus conjunct malefic Algol. And therefore, this millenuem eclipse world seem to have foreshadowed the catastrophic Boxing Day earthquake-tsunami of Dec. 26, 2004 as well.
But the epic eclipse most relevant to our current time period is the July 22, 2009 total solar eclipse at the 29th degree of Cancer- the longest of the 21st century, that culminated over Fukushima, Japan. This eclipse will have an influence for about 6 years and 8 months from it's occurrence. The Total Solar Eclipse of July 22, 2009
As the July 2009 solar eclipse fell -180- the US natal Pluto(27-28 Capricorn), the transit of Saturn to this Pluto and the sensitized eclipse degree(29 Cancer) from late 2011 into Fall 2012(esp. Jan. & Feb. 2012), may be a trigger of related challenges to US power, influence, and financial solvency(US Sibly Pluto in 2nd house).
Given the astrological importance of the July 2009 solar eclipse for Japan, the square from Saturn to the eclipse degree(Jan. & Feb. 2012) is a probable timing factor for prospective events related to the nuclear disaster in Fukushima.

Here Comes Elenin
“At its present position beyond the orbit of Mars, Elenin is a faint telescopic object. At that distance a planet-sized object would be one of the brightest ‘stars’ in the night sky one would think, and if it were Jupiter-sized it would be visually spectacular, a shining beacon that would make everyone take notice! But no, that does not seem to be the case. Large amateur telescopes are straining to even catch a glimpse of Elenin; it is likely a small object, probably a big rock,” writes one blogger.
Big seems to be the appropriate word for we now have the first actual astronomical calculations that puts the coma (the part they can see is 50,000 miles in diameter). Yes, a big rock!"

Humanity Celebrates First Neptune Orbit
"On Tuesday, July 12, 2011, the planet Neptune completes its first revolution around the sun since we earthlings discovered it on September 23, 1846. Neptune reaches this milestone at 22:27 Universal Time(UTC) today.
It takes Neptune 164.79 Earth-years to go full circle through the constellations of the Zodiac, whereas the Earth goes full circle in just 365.256 days. Or you could say that a year on Neptune lasts about 165 years, in contrast to a year on Earth of about 365 days." EarthSky

The Capricorn Full Moon
The July 14-15 Full Moon in Capricorn looks relatively benign, after three consecutive eclipses catalyzing major endings and new beginnings. As lord/ruler of the Full Moon, Saturn, is still the most dignified planet in the heavens- we are called to address imbalances in our relationships, even as we deal with the powerful transpersonal forces instigating massive change in the world.
Capricorn likes to keep it's eye on the prize and work ambitiously to achieve long term goals. While the Sun in Cancer tends to highlight the home, family, security, and tribal affiliations. This Full Moon is therefore a point in time when our awareness of the polarity between the outer and inner life is most acute. If we're too focused on work and getting ahead, our personal life might suffer- or personal matters can spill over into the professional area and cause problems.
Mercury, the messenger, is directly on the potent Uranus/Pluto(midpoint), that's highly sensitve now, with those planets moving slowly into their epoch shaping square. The Ascendant of Japan's March 11 earthquake that generated a tsunami which knocked out the cooling system at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, triggered this crucial midpoint(20 Aquarius).
Reinhold Ebertin describes the Uranus/Pluto principle as, "The process of transformation. The collapse of the old order of things, the construction of the new. Revolution." And regarding the planetary picture Mercury = Uranus/Pluto he says, "An intense thought-activity, a restless mind, an indefatigable worker, creative activity, an inventive and resourceful person. The constant occupation with new things and plans."
If one has a personal planet or angle at 20 Taurus, 20 Leo, 20 Scorpio, or 20 Aquarius- that natal point is subject to profound change and/or sudden upheavals. But try to remember the wisdom of the I Ching(Chinese Book of Changes), "If one understands the laws of change, one has greater control over one's destiny."

Neptune's Birthday
"Neptune is about to celebrate its first birthday. On 12 July it will be exactly one Neptunian year- or 164.79 Earth years- since its discovery on 24 September 1846. But why do we still know so little about the distant planet?
About 4.4 billion kilometres away from Earth lies Neptune, the first planet in the solar system to be discovered deliberately.
After the classification of the planet Uranus in the 1780s, astronomers had been perplexed by its strange orbit. Scientists came to the conclusion that either Isaac Newton's laws were fundamentally flawed or that something else- another planet- was pulling Uranus from its expected orbit.
And so the search for the eighth planet began.
"It was such an incredible mathematical business, it makes searching for a needle in a haystack look like a 10-minute job for a child," says Dr Alan Chapman, author of the Victorian Amateur Astronomer.
While mathematical predictions had been made over the previous decades, it was not until French mathematician Urbain le Verrier's theories were tested at the Berlin observatory by Johann Gottfried Galle that the planet was first seen.
After only an hour or so of searching, Neptune was observed for the first time on the night of 23 September 1846. It was found almost exactly where le Verrier had predicted it to be. Independently, British scientist John Couch Adams also produced similar results, and now he and Verrier are given joint credit for the discovery.
But many claim it was not Galle who documented the planet first, but the famous astronomer and mathematician Galileo. In his famous work The Starry Messenger, some evidence points to his discovery."

Uranus Stationary Retrograde
On July 9 Uranus makes it's annual station-retrograde between 4 and 5 degrees of Aries, and then continues in apparent backward motion until Dec. 10, 2011 where it stations-direct at 0 Aries- the potent Aries point. This planet is named after the ancient Greek deity of the sky Uranus, the father of Cronus(Saturn) and grandfather of Zeus(Jupiter). Uranus was not officially discovered by Sir William Herschel until Mar. 13, 1781 because of it's dimness and slow orbit. But when it was found, and it required the invention of the telescope to do so, our solar sytem expanded a little bit.
Astrologically, Uranus has an affinity with both revolution, awakenings, independence and innovation. In 1995, the brilliant astro-historian Richard Tarnas published an essay on the archetypal meaning of the planet Uranus entitled 'Prometheus the Awakener'. The premise of this ground-breaking essay is that the planet Uranus was misnamed, and actually has more of an archetypal connection with mythic Promethues who stole the fire from the gods, rather then with Uranus of Greek mythology. Mr. Tarnas lays out his case by showing that famous historical figures known for their brilliance in a particular field, all had their breakthrough eureka-moment when transiting Uranus was activating a natal chart factor.
Uranus is retrograde until December 10, and as it appears to retrace its path, so might we revisit whatever we've set in motion since March 2011. How gracefully have we been able to implement the creatve change that Uranus invokes without upsetting those around us, or throwing out the baby with the bathwater? Remember that authentic freedom comes from within- so if you are acting out willfully, you are probably over compensating. That said- there are times when one is compelled to stand up and demand freedom and self-determination, no matter what the cost. The Arab Spring comes to mind. Waking up means having to admit that we have accepted unacceptable conditions.
Natally speaking, if one has planets or angles around 4-5 degrees of the cardinal signs- Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn- those points are receiving stimulation from stationary Uranus. Restlessness and the desire to make changes asap, are often symptomatic of such Uranian activation. Change is the only constant. But as creatures of habit, we tend to maintain the status quo even when it has become stagnant. In such cases, Uranus represents a much needed jolt or shock to the system that is ultimately enlivening and exciting. If possible, embrace uncertainty, as anything can happen at anytime because that is the true nature of things.

Jupiter trine Pluto
Jupiter and Pluto move into the first of three outgoing trines on July 7. This is an easy and productive phase of the 13 year synodic cycle which began with the Dec. 11, 2007 conjunction at 28 Sagittarius. As Jupiter rules Sag, it would seem to have more influence on Pluto , than Pluto on Jupiter. Either way, this combination pertains to the striving and growth of power or influence, both in a material and spiritual sense- while the downside is the tendency for fanatical extremism- an insatiable drive for power/control.
Jupiter(Taurus) and Pluto(Capricorn) in trine(-120-) may reflect opportunities to expand our influence with enthusiasm, and deepen our faith or search for meaning. The earthly quality of the signs involved- Taurus and Capricorn, can ground this powerful exuberance in the real world, so we might be more effective in achieving our goals. Of course, we must consider if these trines align with natal factors, and the houses wherein they occur, to determine their personal influence.
The late, great Charles Harvey wrote about the outgoing trinal phase of a cycle in the chapter 'Cycles in Practice' on page 161 of the classic text 'Mundane Astrology'..."The number 3 is related to life and vitality and enjoyment. It represents the third factor which reconciles opposites producing harmony and order. It is strongly associated with the heart side of life and with those things that bring a sense of delight, pleasure, and well-being. Because of it's relationship to the pleasure principle 3 also relates strongly with motivation and aspiration. This stage in a cycle marks the rapid growth of the main plant through to it's flowering stage. There is usually a harmony and ease about this phase of first flowering, a sense of vitality and happy excitement at the potential and promise of things- in short all the joy, verve and aspiration of spring!"
Mr. Harvey was speaking generally about the meaning of the outgoing trine- but with the summer season currently upon us, we might see the first Jupiter-120-Pluto as a short respite from stress, and an opening to appreciate the simple and earthly delights as the blessings they are.
The second Jupiter(5 Taurus)-Pluto(5 Capricorn) trine is Oct. 28, 2011, while the third and final one is Mar. 12, 2012, with Jupiter and Pluto at 9 degrees of their respective signs.

The End Times
The world will not end on Dec. 21, 2012 when the Mayan calendar long count runs out and a new 5125 year cycle begins. But Uranus and Pluto in square for the next 7 years will undoubtedly reflect massive change and revolutionary upheavals of all sorts- spiritual, financial, cultural, technological, and environmental. And one does not need to know about astrology to figure that out.
I will attempt some more exact predctions in the not too distant future regarding where and when the epic Uranus-Pluto world transit will likely manifest. Already, on July 9, 2011 when Uranus goes stationary-retrograde at 4 Aries 34, the planet of awakening and shocking upsets, pulls up just shy of a square with Pluto now at 5 Capricorn 54. As soon as Pluto entered Capricorn in Jan. 2008, the global financial system went into meltdown mode- and Uranus('uranium') entered fiery Aries only hours before the nuclear meltdown(s) at Fukushima, Japan. In fact, when Uranus crossed the celestial equator(the earth's equator extended into space) in the east on April 9, 2011 and began a new 84 year declination cycle- it was rising in dramatic fashion at Tokyo and Fukushima- yet another linkage between the world transits that inform the spirit of the times(zeitgeist), and world events of great magnitude.
The mass aspiration to realize our collective dreams, ideals, and utopian visions- or sink futher into denial and escapist behavior, is signified by the passage of Neptune through Pisces the Fishes from April 2011 until April 2025. We can not bank on the hope that this transit will save us from ourselves, but we might consider how raising the collective spiritual vibration could make a difference in dealing with the problems at hand.
Sustainability is the powerful mantra of human beings that wish to live and prosper along with Mother earth. We need to get with the program or perish from a fatal blend of hubris and ignorance.
The End Times, by Robert C. Koehler
“All the evidence shows that we are nearing the end of man’s tragic experiment in independence from God.”
Wow, I thought. They get it. And suddenly I felt a burst of solidarity with the Jehovah’s Witnesses. The words are from one of their tracts, which was given to me because I have this passion for talking about God — a wild glee, almost, for stepping up to The Big Serious and wrestling theology with the neighborhood proselytizers.
There are other ways to express the urgency of our situation, leaving God out of it. An eco-conscious soul might warn that the human species must reconnect with indigenous wisdom and the circle of life. But no matter. What strikes me is the growing recognition, in so many quarters, of the unsustainability of our global culture and the need for, and inevitability of, profound change.
Indeed, it’s more than mere “recognition” — it’s a primal disorientation. The culture of moneyed interests, war and techno-diversion, which is global in scope, is killing us at the same time that its media apologists, and the anonymous experts and authorities they quote, reassure us that everything is fine and under control."
