June 15 Total Lunar Eclipse

The June 15 Total Lunar Eclipse at 24 Sagittarius appears to be most sharply focused in San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Victoria, and Vancouver. This Full Moon eclipse aligns with the local horizon in Rio de Janeiro.

Native Americans called this lunation the Full Strawberry Moon as strawberry picking season peaks during this month. Europeans called this the Rose Moon. The total lunar eclipse will be visible across much of South America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Totality will last an unusually long length of time: 1 hour 40 minutes. (SPACE.com)

Perhaps the meridian of longitude along which SF, Portland, Seattle, Victoria, and Vancouver lie, has already been sensitized by the Moon's Nodes of the June 1 partial solar eclipse(11 Gemini) which fell on this same meridian- roughly 122 degrees west. The transit of Mars to the lunar eclipse degree(24 Sagittarius) around July 25 might then be a timing trigger for local events on or near 122 west.

My astrology friend Peter Stockinger mentioned a possible linkage between the June 15 eclipse and illnesses. This is an interesting observation given the worrisome and deadly e-coli outbreak in Europe that began late May which has killed about 20 people thus far, and sent many more to the hospital seriously ill. Deadly Tornado Slams Joplin, MO

"Much of this southwestern Missouri city lay in ruins on Monday morning after a massive tornado, the latest storm to ravage the Midwest and South this spring, tore through the area, killing at least 89 people. Officials say they expect the death toll to climb.

The twister, which touched down at about 6 p.m. Sunday, ripped apart buildings, touched off fires, uprooted trees and tossed cars, leaving them mangled stacks of metal."

The Scorpio Full Moon foreshadowed deadly weather in the US south, i.e. epic flooding of the Mississippi river, and Sunday's tornado in Joplin. But according to the Aries(Vernal Equinox) and Cancer ingress(Summer Solstice) charts for Washington, D.C.- extreme weather in the US is likely to continue at least through the summer of 2011, if not for the entire year.

The Scorpio Full Moon Ascendant at Joplin, MO. was at 25 degrees of Taurus, and the rising Sun was 26 Taurus conjunct the most evil star in the heavens Algol, Beta Persei- the Medusa's head. This excerpt from the NYTimes article posted above fits the astrological descriptions of the malefic star Algol- the severed Gorgon's Head.
"Doug Stillions, 59, and his wife, Melissa Stillions, 37, said that when they heard the tornado warning siren go off Sunday they hurriedly took cover in a neighbor’s basement with their 3-year-old son.

“It was just a black wall to the west,” Mr. Stillions said. “It was dark as night.”

They said they had held hands and prayed as the tornado slammed through at thunderous volume and an accompanying pressure so intense the couple said it felt as if their heads might explode."

Eclipses and Fukushima

In previous posts, the eclipses which may have foreshadowed Japan's EQ-tsunami-nuclear disaster were identified. The upcoming eclipses may also be relevant to the unfolding environmental crisis in Fukushima, which is probably much worse then we have been led to believe.

A brief review...
The longest solar eclipse of the 21st century took place on July 22, 2009, at the final degree of the sign Cancer. The eclipse path crossed over much of South Asia, but was actually on the Midheaven in Sendai, Fukushima, and Tokyo. As this eclipse conjoined the Moon's South Node or Dragon's Tail, it signified a collective loss that has since come to pass where the eclipse was most prominent. According to the old rule, this eclipse will have an effect for 6 years and 8 months(from 7/22/09).

On Mar. 11, 2011 when the tragic earthquake-tsunami struck, Uranus was at the very end of the sign Pisces, and Neptune was at the 29th degree of Aquarius. The last degrees of a sign pertain to endings, and the final 4 or 5 degrees of each sign occupy the 'terms' of either Mars or Saturn- the traditionally malefic planets. Of the several national horoscopes for Japan, I prefer the Feb. 11, 1889 chart, and the May 3, 1947 chart. That said- an ancient method of mundane astrology is to take the Aries ingress(Vernal Equinox) before the founding of a nation, and use this as radix or natal chart. The 1888 Aries ingress chart has a harsh Mars-Saturn square that is most sharply focused at Japan's capital. Saturn(29 Cancer) is precisely rising, and square Mars at 29 Libra on the ingress IC(-180- the Midheaven). The July 22, 2010 solar eclipse(29 Cancer) powerfully activated this alternative radix for Japan. And the Saturn station(29 Libra) of Feb. 7, 2012 might also activate the 1889 Aries ingress, but is clearly triggering the 7/22/10 eclipse degree(29 Cancer). 1888 Aries ingress & 7/22/10 Solar Eclipse

The second eclipse of importance leading up to March 2011, was the July 12, 2010 total solar eclipse at 19 Cancer that rose in Tokyo, and Fukushima. This was the 27th eclipse of Saros series 146 that began Sept. 20, 1541, with a solar eclipse(at 6 Libra) that rose in Tokyo and Fukushima- setting a tone for the whole series. Clearly- the July 2010 eclipse on the Ascendant in Tokyo was a dark portent of what was to befall Japan. Saros 146 and 7/12/10 Solar Eclipse

The third significant eclipse, was the so-called 'Solstice Eclipse' of 12/21/10 at the 29th degree of Gemini- yet another celestial omen of coming events. Both Mars and Pluto- the two planets linked to the sign Scorpio, set in Japan at this Full Moon eclipse that conjoined the red star Betelgeuse. Betelgeuse has long been associated with natural disasters, and even tragedies of the man-made variety. The Moon was conjunct Betelgeuse at the 9/11 attack, and again at the Indian Ocean earthquake-tsunami on Boxing Day 2004.

The next solar eclipse of June 2, 2011 at 11 Gemini is conjunct the so-called , 'nuclear axis' (defined by the royal stars Aldebaran at 10 Gemini and Antares at 10 Sagittarius), which is relevant to the Fukushima crisis. In fact, this eclipse conjoins the First Nuclear Reaction Saturn(9 Gemini) that set at Fukushima, and the Trinty Atomic Bomb Test Venus(9 Gemini) angular(powerful) in Fukushima. Hence, the two key charts for the birth of the nuclear era are receiving eclipse activation- and this activation is linked to Fukushima via the relocated charts. Moreover, Japan's Feb. 11, 1889 horoscope has it's Ascendant at 10 Gemini. And the Moon was 10 Gemini(Aldebaran) and rising in Tokyo as Uranus(sudden shocks; uranium) entered Aries, only hours before the damaged Fukushima nuclear reactors began leaking radiation.

Another factor to consider regarding the June 1 solar eclipse, is that Pluto and the Moon's North Node share antiscia. This contact reflects a collective destiny(Nodes) of a plutonian(extreme and/or destructive) nature. And as Pluto opposes the eclipse Ascendant at Fukushima, the Pluto-Node contact may have special importance there. Transiting Mars crosses/activates the eclipse degree on July 6.

The antiscion(singular) of the June 1 solar eclipse is 19 Cancer, and the July 12, 2010 total solar eclipse that conjoined the Ascendant in Japan was 19 Cancer. So we find one eclipse apparently triggering an earlier one. June 16 Total Lunar Eclipse at 24 Sagittarius
Pluto(6 Capricorn) is even more closely opposing the Ascendant(6 Cancer) in Fukushima, at the June 16 total lunar eclipse(24 Sag). And thus Pluto is exactly conjunct the eclipse Part of Fortune(6 Capricorn), which suggests rather extreme misfortune. Eclipse Mars conjoins the malefic star Algol(26 Taurus) and the 2011 Aries ingress Ascendant(26-27 Taurus) at Fukushima. Unfortunately, the Aries ingress Ascendant with Algol indicates brutal conditions in general, but especially around Fukushima, until the Spring Equinox of 2012.

The June lunar eclipse(24 Sag) activates both the Fukushima Daiichi Plant's natal chart(Mar. 26, 1971), and it's 2011 solar return. Natally, there's an intense Moon(Ascendant lord- 25 Pisces)-Pluto(28 Virgo) opposition, tending toward extremes-upheavals. And the 2011 solar return Mars(24 Pisces) in a t-square with the return Moon(27 Sag) and Nodal axis(27 Sag-Gem), highlights the stressful natal Moon-Pluto aspect. Therefore, the lunar eclipse setting-off this tense planetary complex is another red flag concerning further developments, or revelations of what has already occurred in Fukushima- as is the station of transiting Uranus(5 Aries) partile the natal Sun(5 Aries) on July 10. A transit from Mars to the lunar eclipse degree(24 Sag) around July 25 could trigger it's latent energy. Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant & 2011 Solar Return

Finally- the July 1 partial solar eclipse at 9 Cancer completes a dynamic grand cross with Uranus, Pluto, and Saturn(checks & balances) which conjoins the Midheaven in Fukushima. The eclipse Midheaven(14 Libra) occupies the ecliptic degree of the star Algorab, the Crow- a generally malefic star, i.e. 9/11 attack Ascendant-Mercury. But it's the fateful Lunar Nodes on the horizon that most dramatically reflects the linkage between the eclipse and events in Japan.

The July 1 eclipse(9 Cancer) also forms a tight grand cross with the Fukushima power plant's natal Mars(8 Capricorn) and MC-IC axis(9 Aries-Libra), which appears violent and/or explosive. If so, the transit of Mars to the eclipse degree on Aug. 16 could be the spark that sets off that powerful potential seeded by the solar eclipse.

On a lighter note...The May Full Moon was called the Full Flower Moon by Native American people in the US, as flowers are now abundant everywhere. This moon was also known as the Full Corn Planting Moon or the Milk Moon.

Earthquake Rocks Spain

"At least 10 people were killed after a magnitude 5.3 earthquake toppled several buildings in southern Spain, near the town of Lorca. The quake struck at a depth of just 1km (0.6 miles), some 120km south-west of Alicante, at 1850(1650 GMT), the US Geological Survey reported.

The BBC's Sarah Rainsford in Madrid says the quake is the most serious to hit Spain in about 50 years.

Spain has hundreds of earthquakes every year but most of these are too small to be noticed. Murcia- the region where Lorca is situated- is the country's most seismically active area and suffered tremors in 2005 and 1999.

Murcia is close to the large fault line beneath the Mediterranean Sea where the European and African continents meet."

Earlier today, Mars entered the sign of Taurus, where it is traditionally considered debilitated- in it's detriment, as Mars rules Scorpio, opposite Taurus. Since Mars can act badly when badly placed, it's not surprising to find it sharply focused in Lorca, when it changed signs. But the only way one can see this location specific contact, is by looking at the antiscia or shadow points, which shows the quake sensitive IC(-180- Midheaven) and Mars at 0 Taurus sharing antiscia. So it's as if Mars was conjunct the IC(weather & earthquakes) in Lorca when the red planet changed signs.

Also of note, are the Moon's fateful Nodes straddling the local horizon in Lorca, as Mars moved into Taurus. The Nodes are simply eclipse points. Moreover, the modern astrologer will point out the tight contact(9' orb) between the Descendant and Pluto(upheavals & death) by antiscia, which is akin to Pluto setting in Lorca as Mars enters Taurus.

The earthquake chart's Ascendant shares antiscia with the comet/asteroid Chiron(the wounded healer), which does tend to show up in mundane charts where people suffer accidental injuries- resonant with the accidental wounding of mythic Chiron.

The May 17 Scorpio Full Moon may correspond with a highly emotional period wherein buried feelings and desires emerge from below the surface of consciousness. A light may shine on whatever has been hidden. It will probably be a cathartic Full Moon whatever form it takes in our personal lives.

The Sun conjoins the eclipsing binary star known as Algol Beta Persei, generally considered the most evil star in the heavens. Some will lose their heads figuratively, and others literally- as Algol represents the head of the Gorgon Medusa who was slain by Perseus.

The red planet Mars is the ancient ruler of the sign Scorpio, and it's current lack of dignities does not bode well as far as peace and non-violence are concerned. But life can be brutal, and only those strong enough to face this truth squarely are prepared to thrive under stress.

Mundanely, the epic flooding of the Mississippi river from Memphis to New Orleans, is cause for concern, as the Scorpio Full Moon axis is especially focused in that part of the US. Moreover, the 2011 Aries ingress chart(spring equinox) that we use to forecast the coming year, shows the prospect of extreme and destructive weather, with the epochal Uranus-Pluto square on the angles at the US capital. And the 2011 Cancer solar ingress map(summer solstice) suggests more of the same.

NASA's Epic Space-Time Experiment

"Einstein was right again. There is a space-time vortex around Earth, and its shape precisely matches the predictions of Einstein's theory of gravity. Researchers confirmed these points at a press conference today at NASA headquarters where they announced the long-awaited results of Gravity Probe B(GP-B).

"The space-time around Earth appears to be distorted just as general relativity predicts," says physicist Francis Everitt, principal investigator of the Gravity Probe B mission.

"This is an epic result," adds Clifford Will of Washington University in St. Louis. An expert in Einstein's theories, Will chairs an independent panel of the National Research Council set up by NASA in 1998 to monitor and review the results of Gravity Probe B. "One day," he predicts, "this will be written up in textbooks as one of the classic experiments in the history of physics."

Time and space, according to Einstein's theories of relativity, are woven together, forming a four-dimensional fabric called "space-time." The mass of Earth dimples this fabric, much like a heavy person sitting in the middle of a trampoline. Gravity, says Einstein, is simply the motion of objects following the curvaceous lines of the dimple.

If Earth were stationary, that would be the end of the story. But Earth is not stationary. Our planet spins, and the spin should twist the dimple, slightly, pulling it around into a 4-dimensional swirl. This is what GP-B went to space in 2004 to check.

The idea behind the experiment is simple: Put a spinning gyroscope into orbit around the Earth, with the spin axis pointed toward some distant star as a fixed reference point. Free from external forces, the gyroscope's axis should continue pointing at the star--forever. But if space is twisted, the direction of the gyroscope's axis should drift over time. By noting this change in direction relative to the star, the twists of space-time could be measured. In practice, the experiment is tremendously difficult."
