Strong Earthquake Rocks Turkey

"A strong quake has shattered buildings near the Turkish city of Van, killing at least 138 people and trapping an unknown number under rubble. Casualties are reported to be particularly high in the town of Ercis, close to the Iranian border, where dozens of buildings fell.

Reports spoke of thousands of residents running screaming in the streets. Fears rose of a death toll in the hundreds as rescuers worked into the night to find survivors.

Turkey is particularly vulnerable to earthquakes because it sits on major geological fault lines. Two earthquakes in 1999 with a magnitude of more than 7 killed almost 20,000 people in densely populated parts of the north-west of the country." (BBC News)

Transiting Pluto (extremes & upheavals) stationed-retrograde Apr. 9 at 7.30 Capricorn, in opposition to Turkey's natal Ascendant (7.47 Cancer -0- Pluto 12.20 Cancer) and square it's 4th house (weather & earthquakes) Mars (violence & accidents). And the July 1 partial solar eclipse (9.12 Cancer) hit Turkey's Ascendant and squared natal Mars. This eclipse was conjunct the Midheaven in Van, Turkey, with Pluto near the IC (an earthquake signature in itself), Saturn rising, and Uranus setting. Then on Sept. 27, the eclipse Ascendant (4.45 Libra), MC-IC axis, and Turkey's 4th house Mars (7.23 Libra) were strongly activated by a powerful New Moon (4 Libra).

Interestingly- if we direct the July 1 solar eclipse Moon (9 Cancer) one degree per day (114 days later) it's now at 3 Scorpio, which is the exact degree of the Oct. 26 SuperMoon (3 Scorpio).
