The Sun conjoins the eclipsing binary star known as Algol Beta Persei, generally considered the most evil star in the heavens. Some will lose their heads figuratively, and others literally- as Algol represents the head of the Gorgon Medusa who was slain by Perseus.
The red planet Mars is the ancient ruler of the sign Scorpio, and it's current lack of dignities does not bode well as far as peace and non-violence are concerned. But life can be brutal, and only those strong enough to face this truth squarely are prepared to thrive under stress.
Mundanely, the epic flooding of the Mississippi river from Memphis to New Orleans, is cause for concern, as the Scorpio Full Moon axis is especially focused in that part of the US. Moreover, the 2011 Aries ingress chart(spring equinox) that we use to forecast the coming year, shows the prospect of extreme and destructive weather, with the epochal Uranus-Pluto square on the angles at the US capital. And the 2011 Cancer solar ingress map(summer solstice) suggests more of the same.

The scandal involving the IMF scandal renders your interpretation of the Scorpio moon dead on! Kudos.
Hello 456,
I have not been following the scandal involving the IMF's Strauss-Kahn too closely. But the Scorpio Full Moon squares his natal Saturn(accountability) on the royal star Regulus- heart of the lion. We find Regulus prominent in the charts of those with an intense need for power and influence. But it also relates to the integrity required of those who wield influence, and the fall from grace when one abuses such power.
I also notice that transiting Pluto is now -180- his progressed Sun, which could unearth personal secrets, possibly of a sexual nature. He's being confronted by a power greater then his own.
Traditionally- Scorpio is ruled by Mars, but modern astrologers grant this position to Pluto- only discovered in 1930. Both Mars and Pluto have an affinity with Scorpio.

Here's an article by Jeff Jawer on Dominique Strauss-Kahn, that includes a birth time.
