MP's Expenses Row

"None of us could have missed the current scandal in the UK of MPs expenses. The reputation of Westminster has been badly tarnished with current confidence in Mps at an all time low. The history of how these expenses came to be exposed goes back to 4th January 2005 when a journalist made a freedom-of-information request for MPs' full Additional Costs Allowances. On that day transiting Mars, ruler of the 11th house of parliament, was conjunct Saturn and a Mercury/Pluto conjunction squared the UK Mercury. The request was rejected and there followed a long battle between the Journalists and the House of Commons authorities which was lost on the 16th May 2008 as transiting Neptune squared Venus, ruling planet of the Government. Mercury went retrograde on May 7th 2009, on May the 8th, as transiting Jupiter opposed the UK Moon/Neptune conjunction, the current hullabaloo began with the Telegraph publishing the first in a series of articles that exposed some of the expenses claimed by MPs."

Britain's Financial Scandal
From today's NY Times:
"After days of mounting pressure over Britain’s parliamentary expenses scandal, Michael Martin, the speaker of the House of Commons, announced Tuesday that he would step down — the first holder of the prestigious position to be ousted in more than 300 years.
“In order that unity can be maintained, I have decided that I will relinquish the office of speaker on Sunday, June 21,” he said. A successor would be appointed the next day." Read More
Besides the big hits to England's natal horoscope, the current Mercury retrograde phase- which is a time of sorting out problems, is linked to parliament's financial scandal, as it occurs in England's 2nd house of money, and will station-direct near England's Neptune(scandals) May 30. Moreover, the New Moon of May 24 signifies the beginning of a new economic period.
Michael Martin's(7/3/45) natal Venus is 26 Taurus(Algol), where Mercury's going back and forth- and his Venus is also being squared by the triple conjunction in Aquarius. This is a case where the less favorable themes of that alignment are obvious- i.e. high hopes and expectations, that end in disillusionment.

The Avatar Awakens

"We have just celebrated the bonfires of fertility with Beltane and May Day, honoring the re-unification of Persephone, released from the underworld, and her mother, our earth mother, Ceres, an asteroid related to the nurturing principles of abundance. What are we fertilizing this spring? What do we seek to nourish this summer?
Mercury retrograde begins yet again Wednesday May 7th at 1 degree Gemini and ends at 22 degrees of Taurus Sunday May 31st with Mr. shapeshifter techno-traveler trixter asking us to question our value system, what we're really willing to invest in and become responsible for. In some ways, this cycle will mirror our recent Venus retrograde cycle thru Aries in March and April, where our relationships and creative projects underwent serious scrutiny. What crop do we wish to tend and what social and interpersonal soil will help our gifts bloom in the physical, sensual garden of manifestation?"

Obama's Pre-Natal Eclipse
After noting how Calvin Borel's pre-natal eclipse was triggered just before he won the Kentucky Derby- I must mention two other persons whom have captured the public's imagination, that are having their pre-natal eclipse degree activated. Both Barack Obama, and Scottish singer Susan Boyle of YouTube fame, were born in 1961 after the total solar eclipse of Feb. 15.
(Boyle was born on April 1, and Obama on Aug. 4.)
Although there was a lunar eclipse on Mar. 2, 1961(12 Virgo), the 2/15/61 solar eclipse at 26 Aquarius appears most significant, as this is exactly where the major conjunction of Jupiter, Chiron, and Neptune is occurring now. And it is this rare celestial alignment that pertains to the grand optimism and idealism that many are feeling- which may, or may not, be realistic- but can heal the wounds(Chiron) of the past. Moreover, the collective tends to project it's dreams and fantasies onto public figures whom reflect these projections best. And Barack Obama, in particular, clearly fits the bill, as he's able to elicit a hopefulness about the future that the masses wish to embrace at this time. Only time will tell if our faith and trust was well placed.

Calvin Borel Wins the Kentucky Derby
In one of the biggest upsets in the race’s history, Calvin Borel rode Mine That Bird past the finish line first to be the 2009 Kentucky Derby winner.
Mine That Bird, trained by Bennie Woolley Jr. entered the race at 50 to 1 odds, and was fancied by no one to win the race. Instead, it was a resounding win, with Mine That Bird winning by nearly seven lengths, the biggest winning length since 1946. The payout of $103.20 to win(for $1) was the second-largest payout in Derby history, and the biggest since 1913.

Calvin Borel was born a day before an exact Saturn(in Pisces)-180-Uranus(in Virgo), and five days before a total solar eclipse(20 Scorpio). The current opposition between these same planets, is a mirror image of the 1966 aspect, with Saturn now in Virgo, and Uranus in Pisces.
What's amazing is that Calvin Borel's pre-natal lunar eclipse(5 Taurus 32), was just conjoined by the April 24 New Moon at 5 Taurus 04. And the competitive, red planet of sports, Mars- was aspecting the angles of this eclipse chart, as he rode to a spectacular victory in Sunday's contest.
