Machines to match humans by 2029

"Machines will achieve human-level artificial intelligence by 2029, a leading US inventor has predicted. Humanity is on the brink of advances that will see tiny robots implanted in people's brains to make them more intelligent, said Ray Kurzweil.

The engineer believes machines and humans will eventually merge through devices implanted in the body to boost intelligence and health. "It's really part of our civilization," Mr Kurzweil explained. Machines were already doing hundreds of things humans used to do, at human levels of intelligence or better, in many different areas, he said.

"I've made the case that we will have both the hardware and the software to achieve human level artificial intelligence with the broad suppleness of human intelligence including our emotional intelligence by 2029," he said.

"We're already a human machine civilization; we use our technology to expand our physical and mental horizons and this will be a further extension of that."

Humans and machines would eventually merge, by means of devices embedded in people's bodies to keep them healthy and improve their intelligence, predicted Mr Kurzweil.

"We'll have intelligent nanobots go into our brains through the capillaries and interact directly with our biological neurons," he told BBC News.

The nanobots, he said, would "make us smarter, remember things better and automatically go into full emergent virtual reality environments through the nervous system".

Mr Kurzweil is one of 18 influential thinkers chosen to identify the great technological challenges facing humanity in the 21st century by the US National Academy of Engineering. The experts include Google founder Larry Page and genome pioneer Dr Craig Venter." (BBC News, 2/17/08)

Astrologically speaking- the Grand Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius on the Winter Solstice of 2020, represents a paradigm shift of consciousness from a materialistic focus, to a more progressive social awareness, and technologically advanced culture.

Another marker for innovation, might be the April 30, 2022 solar eclipse, that conjoins Uranus(modern ruler of Aquarius), the planet of revolution, breakthroughs, and invention. But the epic seismic shift, regarding technology with transformative possibilities, occurs on March 23, 2023, when Pluto enters the cutting-edge sign of Aquarius for a 20 year period. Moreover, the Gemini ingress of Uranus in July 2025, signifies new ways of thinking that will be radically progressive.

Astrology and the Causes of War

Mundane astrologer Jamie Macphail of Bristol, has a new book out entitled, 'Astrology and the Causes of War'.

"Can astrology be used to understand the circumstances leading up to war? And if so, how do we convince world leaders to listen to mundane astrologers? In this long-awaited book, Jamie Macphail examines 12 wars using the tools of mundane astrology and reveals some startling and disturbing information that shows astrology could have a role in predicting and preventing war"

"Would war be avoidable if world leaders could be persuaded to use astrology? This book analyses the political and astrological causes underlying many of the major wars since 1950 and concludes that it is now time for politicians to consider the advice of astrologers in order to develop greater objectivity. A brave book with piercing insights."

4 Masterworks Stolen in Zurich

"Armed robbers stole four important paintings by van Gogh, Monet, Degas and Cézanne from a museum in Zurich, the Swiss authorities announced Monday, in what they said might have been the largest art theft in Europe.

Three thieves, wearing dark clothes and ski masks, walked into the emile Bührle Foundation, a private collection housed about a mile outside of Zurich’s city center near the shore of Lake Zurich, around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, a short while before the museum was due to close. The collection is considered to be one of the biggest privately owned collections of French impressionists in the world.

While one held a pistol and ordered visitors and staff members to lie on the floor in the main room of the museum, the two other men removed the four paintings from the wall: Monet’s “Poppy Field at Vetheuil,” “Ludovic Lepic and his Daughter” by Edgar Degas, Van Gogh’s “Blooming Chestnut Branches,” and Cézanne’s “Boy in the Red Waistcoat.” Their total worth is estimated at $163 million.

“This is the largest ever art robbery in Switzerland, and it would be hard to find a bigger example elsewhere in Europe,” said Peter Rüegger, head of the police investigation.

The police said the fact that the theft took place while the museum was still open and the thieves were armed presented “a new dimension” for art robbery, and they said they were concerned it would set a new precedent.

Last week, two Picasso oils valued at $4.5 million were stolen from a Swiss museum in Pfaeffikon. But authorities said Monday that they did not think the two robberies were linked." Read More

The national chart for Switzerland* is actively mirroring these major art thefts. The transit of Neptune(deception) to the Swiss chart Ascendant speaks volumes, as Pluto(extremes; and agents of the underworld) now squares the nation's Mars, which rules the 5th house of fine art. The Feb. 6 solar eclipse hit to Switzerland's progressed Midheaven(18 Aquarius), reflects it's now tarnished status and reputation as an important center for the arts.
