Merriman's Market Week

Week of Week of Dec. 14

"Debt, fear, and hope. These are the three dynamics shown clearly in the heavens as we approach the end of 2009. Equity markets are in conflict over these three factors. The waning square of Saturn and Pluto coincides with the reality of excessive debt that still threatens to unravel the economies of both nations and individuals. Home foreclosures continue to mount in record numbers, as do small businesses going bankrupt. Countries like Iceland and Dubai find it difficult to meet their financial obligation to bondholders. Greece, Spain, Italy and Ireland may be close behind, which could threaten the very survival of the European Union."

Thank you for the link to Meridian's chart for the Federal REserve. I gotta say, I am very confused---why did Bill M draft the chart for NYC? I read that Wilson signed it in the white house. When I draft the chart it is an 18 Cancer rising.... and then when I looke at Merriman's chart he gives the FDR a Capricorn Rising Chart....what gives? Any insights?
Thanks for your posting, btw and your sight. Come visit mine...Tracy

The current Mountain Astrologer has a short piece by a Scottish astrologer, Paul Wright, re: Neptune’s transits & their economic (mal) effects. Wright’s well published and in the MA piece he briefly mentions Neptune’s coming conjunction in 2010 of America’s Moon at appx 27 Aquarius, shown in the 3rd House in the Barry Lynes chart [7/4/1776, Philly, 4:47pm]. Wright ties this to the California Gold Rush, last go round. The more I think about it, that 2010 event could be a whole lot more positive for the country. Granted, Pluto will oppose USA’s N-Jupiter outside the USA 8th(Lynes), and T-Jupiter will be in Pisces (USA 3rd), but we could get a very interesting ‘discovery’ of some thing or another that affects the masses…hopefully in a positive way. In January 1848, when gold was actually discovered, Jupiter happened to be in America’s 8th, having favorably crossed her Sun in Cancer, while Neptune was hitting the US Moon at 27 Aquarius. It’s only happened once before; odds are so-so. But so much gloom & doom floating around…yet here’s one for the history books coming up, overshadowed by the Pluto 2nd House transits, conj the FedRes stuff, and opposing most of America’s family jewels. …you know, such a ‘discovery affecting the masses’ doesn’t have to be a downer.

Yeah, these last two weeks have just been electric and intense!
I have at the moment both Uranus and Saturn squaring my Sun, so guess what energy it was! Each day, a new event, a new change.

I see it, that by mid September, as the Uranus-Saturn opposition draws close, and Pluto enters the configuration, the whole global situation will aggitate forward!

Best,
