"At least eight people have been killed and 60 injured after two trains collided in a suburb of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, rescue services say.
"There are several corpses and several people injured," a fire brigade spokesman said. The collision took place about 200m from Austin station in the suburb of Nova Iguacu at 1600 (1900 GMT).
Brazilian TV showed at least one carriage on its side and rescue workers were trying to save people inside."

After the fiery plane crash of July 17 in Sao Paulo, I noted the Mar. 19, 2007 solar eclipse(2:31:56) featured Pluto exactly on the Ascendant there, square the eclipse in the 4th house(domestic affairs). Saturn(loss and hardships) is opposite the eclipse 3rd house(transportation) Mercury(1 Pisces), that just got activated by the 8/28 lunar eclipse(4 Pisces).
And Mars(violent accidents, and injuries) squares the volatile, eclipse Uranus-Node conjunction(mass upsets/disruptions), that fell on the eclipse chart meridian there.

Total Lunar Eclipse Aug. 28
NASA's Fred Espenak has a special page on the total lunar of Aug. 28, with all the technical details, and graphic eclipse maps. This eclipse is quite powerful in Washington, DC, as it falls on the local horizon there- along with Nodes of the Moon.
And whatever affects the U.S. capital, affects the whole country.
Although this eclipse opposes Dick Cheney's Ascendant(his person, and well-being), we may not see the effects until transiting Saturn crosses his Ascendant in mid Oct. 07. Saturn's transit over Bush's Ascendant just weeks after hurricane Katrina, marked the beginning of his fall from grace. In Cheney's case- the tenuous condition of his health may be disturbed.
Expect to be feeling sensitive, and highly emotional, around the eclipse. The emphasis on mutable signs now, suggests that circumstances are in flux, and more changeable than normal.

The Aug. 28 lunar eclipse belongs to a roughly 1200 year cycle known as Saros series 128, which began with an eclipse on June 18, 1304. 9:14:41 UT. This first eclipse fell in Capricorn and squared Saturn- lord of the eclipse. It opposed the U.S.(7/4/1776) Venus-Jupiter conjunction, that relates to the nation's wealth and happiness. While the eclipse Sun conjoined Sirius- the dog star, with a significant connection to the U.S.(the Sun was conjunct Sirius on July 4, 1776).
The 1304 eclipse with Mars on the U.S. Mars, set a heavy(Saturn) tone for Saros 128, and the Aug. 28 lunar eclipse. Also note, the daunting Sept. 11, 2007 solar eclipse, features Mars conjunct the U.S. Mars. Therefore, the summer eclipses are clearly linked to U.S. military affairs(Mars), and to attacks by, or against our troops. The deployment and re-deployment of the nation's military forces, is an issue of great importance, that's highlighted again and again in various charts.

8.0 Earthquake Rocks Peru
"Emergency workers are struggling to deal with the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in Peru that has left hundreds of people dead. At least 500 people died and many more were injured.
The UN's Margareta Wahlstrom said power and communications were down and that 80% of houses in some areas had been destroyed because of poor construction, and the death
toll would likely rise as the destruction of buildings in the area was "quite total".
The 8.0-magnitude earthquake struck on Wednesday evening at 1841 (2341 GMT), just off the coast of Peru.
The province of Ica was the most damaged, but even in Lima, 95 miles from the epicentre, people stood trembling on the streets as buildings around them shook."

The earthquake chart has Mars at the nadir(4th house cusp) of land and foundations, square the fateful Nodes of the Moon(mass destiny) on the local horizon. But what would have alerted the astrologer to this disaster beforehand? As Mars was most promninent in the event chart, and has recently entered the sign of Gemini- I cast a horoscope for this ingress('entering into').
Mars first moved into Gemini on Aug. 7, 2007, around 6 am, GMT. This ingress chart clearly foreshadowed the earthquake, and a huge loss of life, with collective sadness. Saturn was at the point(conjunct the nadir) most indicative of earth movements, and squared the Ascendant(the people, and local conditions). The malefic star Algol('piled corpses') conjoined this Ascendant, and Pluto(extreme events) was in a hard aspect(-150-) from the 8th house of death and loss. Violent Mars was rising in Lima as it entered Gemini, and squared retrograde Venus- ruler of the Ascendant, in the 4th house of land-foundations. So in retrospect, we see the Mars ingress chart did suggest loss, and mass hardship in Peru, from a structural breakdown of some kind.
The normally favorable influence of Venus, is much less favorable when retrograding- especially in aspect to the traditional malefics, Mars and Saturn.

9/11 Attack Solar Return
