Tahoe Wildfire
"Firefighters have begun to contain a 2,400-acre fire near South Lake Tahoe that has destroyed 240 structures, including 165 homes, and officials expect that better weather conditions today will help them battle the blaze.
After moving quickly across about 2,000 acres Sunday, the fire scorched another 400 acres overnight and is threatening about 500 homes, said Daniel Berlant, a spokesman for the state's forestry department. About 1,000 people remain evacuated from their homes, he added.
The fire apparently started near Angora Ridge- about 5 miles southwest of the city of South Lake Tahoe- at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday. The fire, dubbed the Angora Fire, began in an area where residences and forest lands meet, said Berlant. "We're very fortunate there have been no injuries and no fatalities in such a devastating fire," he said.

"A birth chart or natal chart is a portrait of the heavens at the moment of one’s birth. The Sun, Moon, and planets are positioned around the chart to reflect their positions around the Earth when one was born. For example, where the symbol for the Sun is located in the chart reflects the time of day one was born: thus if one was born at noon, the Sun would be at the top of the chart (called the Midheaven), while if one was born at dawn the Sun would be shown rising on the left side of the chart near the eastern horizon (called the Ascendant).
The main difference between the natal chart and the astronomical reality it portrays is that the natal chart has two dimensions rather than three, and it does not reflect the varying distances of the planets from the Earth. What the birth chart does convey is the exact pattern of angular relationships existing between the planets and the Earth at the time and place of one’s birth.
The basic principle of astrology is that the planets have a fundamental, cosmically based connection to specific archetypal forces or principles which influence human existence, and that the patterns formed by the planets in the heavens bear a meaningful correspondence to the patterns of human affairs on the Earth. In terms of individuals, the positions of the planets at the time and place of a person's birth are regarded as corresponding to the basic archetypal patterns of that person's life and character."

"Torrential rains and gale-force winds have led to the deaths of more than 200 people in the coastal city of Karachi in southern Pakistan. Dozens more were injured as heavy winds uprooted trees and brought down power lines, electrocuting people. Karachi residents were already suffering from power cuts which have led to riots in the city."

Pluto at the Galactic Center
The planet Pluto(god of the underworld) is transiting the Galactic Center(center of the Milky Way galaxy) on and off, through most of 2007. This once in 248 years event, has profound implications for the collective transformation(Pluto) of humanity, through crisis and upheaval(Pluto).
The Galactic Center symbolizes a higher level of energy, information, and intelligence. Pluto informs the process of death, rebirth, and renewal. Isaac Newton Calculated Apocalypse
JERUSALEM (AP) -- Three-century-old manuscripts by Isaac Newton calculating the exact date of the apocalypse, detailing the precise dimensions of the ancient temple in Jerusalem and interpreting passages of the Bible -- exhibited this week for the first time -- lay bare the little-known religious intensity of a man many consider history's greatest scientist.
Newton, who died 280 years ago, is known for laying much of the groundwork for modern physics, astronomy, math and optics. But in a new Jerusalem exhibit, he appears as a scholar of deep faith who also found time to write on Jewish law -- even penning a few phrases in careful Hebrew letters -- and combing the Old Testament's Book of Daniel for clues about the world's end.
The documents, purchased by a Jewish scholar at a Sotheby's auction in London in 1936, have been kept in safes at Israel's national library in Jerusalem since 1969. Available for decades only to a small number of scholars, they have never before been shown to the public.

Tony Parker Wins MVP
"There was a distinctly international flavour to the San Antonio Spurs team that beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-0 in the NBA finals on Thursday. The Belgian-born Frenchman Tony Parker scored 24 points in the 83-82 win in game four and he was named Most Valuable Player of the finals, the first European to claim the award."

Tony Parker is living large, with a Most Valuable Player award, and a trophy wife to be- Eva Longoria. He was born May 15, 1982, in Brugges, Belgium.
Athletes tend to have competitive Mars prominent in their horoscopes, and Tony's Mars is well placed at 0-1 Libra, on the Aries point-world axis. Planets on the world axis show what facet of the persons nature may bring mass public appeal.

Pluto Status Suffers Another Blow
"Pluto has suffered yet another blow to its status. Not only has it been demoted from planet to "dwarf planet", research now shows that it cannot even lay claim to being the biggest of these.
A study has confirmed that the dwarf planet Eris - whose discovery prompted Pluto's relegation from planet to dwarf - outranks it in mass. The US team, whose work is published in the journal Science, described their finding as "Pluto's last stand".
The discovery of Eris, formerly known as 2003 UB313, marked the beginning of the end for Pluto as a planet. Previous measurements from the Hubble Space Telescope confirmed that Eris was larger in diameter than Pluto, leading the International Astronomical Union (IAU) to rule in 2006 that Pluto could no longer be classed as a planet.

It also has a moon, which is called Dysnomia, and scientists used this satellite, along with the Keck Observatory, Hubble Space Telescope to calculate its mass. The researchers, led by Eris' discoverer Mike Brown from the California Institute of Technology, discovered that the more distant world has 27% more mass than Pluto. They wrote: "In addition to being the largest, Eris is also the most massive known dwarf planet."

Shiite Shrine Attacked
"Iraqi citizens are being forced to relive their nightmare from last year as two minarets of the Askariya Shiite shrine in Samarra suffered an attack which destroyed two of the shrines minarets Wednesday morning. This is a repeat of a bombing in 2006 which shattered the famous Golden Dome and set off a wave of retaliatory sectarian violence throughout the country.
The attack’s purpose seems to be to provoke the Shiites back into fighting, reports Time. Since the start of the US-led military “surge” earlier this year, Shiite militias have been staying relatively quiet. Al-Qaeda has been trying to provoke them back into the fight by launching several attacks on Shiite religious site, although most have failed.
According to CBS News, police report the attack at around 9 am, with explosives bringing down the minarets, which had flanked the ruined dome. There were no casualties reported. However this attack practically ensures retaliation; as reported by Time, after the attacks a year ago, thousands of Shiite militants, most of which were then loyal to the Mahdi Army of firebrand cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, spread out across Baghdad in a wave of killing and burning which lasted a few weeks. Thus far al-Sadr’s only reaction to the bombings has been to call for three days of morning and peaceful demonstrations.
A 30-member bloc which is loyal to al-Sadr has suspended its membership in parliament today, reports CBS News, saying that it will stay away from the house until the government takes “realistic” steps to rebuild the Askariya shrine. This suspension is likely to weaken the Shiite-dominated government, which would delay the adoption of a series of laws needed to build national reconciliation to reduce violence in Iraq."
The Feb. 22, 2006 bombing of the golden domed Askariya mosque, was perpetrated by Al Qaeda in Iraq, and set off a wave of sectarian violence that has continued unabated ever since. The Sun was rising then(6:55 am) and conjoined the royal star Fomalhaut- the fish's mouth. I have previously noted the connection between this star and Al Qaeda.
Today's bombing of the Samarra mosque features the Moon conjunct the most malefic star in the heaven's- Algol. And the Moon's Node(mass trends) is transiting the 2/22/06 attack Uranus(sudden, radical events).
The total lunar eclipse of Aug. 28, 2007 conjoins the royal star Fomalhaut. This eclipse is powerful in Washington, DC, by angularity, with the brightest star of the Pleiades, Alcyone, on the midheaven. And besides Fomalhaut- the activation of the royal stars Antares(the rival of Mars- Scorpion's heart) and Regulus(heart of the Lion), suggests an extraordinary eclipse.
