The traditional astrological meaning assigned to Mercury going "retrograde" in the sky is that one should prepare for and gird themselves for unexpected delays, frustrations, and surprises in everyday life. This includes everyday routines in commerce, commuting back and forth to work, and in one's communications. During the (very) approximate 24-day periods when Mercury turns "retrograde" in the sky, in the area of commerce, astrologers generally recommend delaying of the signing contracts and other important life decisions. It is a period of time thought to be better spent in reflection and in the rethinking of things. However, since Mercury Retrograde generally occurs 3 to 4 times a year, one cannot rationally put everything "on hold" every time Mercury goes "retro." That's why I stated that "one should prepare for and gird themselves for unexpected delays, frustrations, and surprises."

Unbeknownst to Mr. Drobny- this Mercury retrograde may indeed be a
factor in the latest Middle East conflict, as it changes direction(stationary direct- July 29) on the Ascendant of the Middle East Mandate chart. This signals a turning point in related negotiations(ME). The exact conjunction of Aug. 1, is preceeded by a favorable grand trine between Venus, Jupiter, and Uranus, from July 27 till July 31. These are probable signs of negotiation and cease-fire.

The Full Moon of 7/11 was a 'horizon event' at Tel Aviv, with the Ascendant exactly conjunct the MEM Ascendant- 22 Cancer! (Note that Mercury stations at 21 Cancer.) And Hezbollah attacked the Israeli army a day later. This lunation featured Mars rising in Mumbai(7/11 bombings), and Neptune(deception) setting!
The July 25 New Moon conjoins both Israel's(5/14/48) and the MEM Moon, stirring the people and public opinion in the region. This New Moon falls in the 12th house of secrets and secret enemies(at Tel Aviv), with Neptune angular. Consequently- it's hard to discern the reality behind the war spin, and covert actions/attacks by both sides are likely. (New Moon Mars rising in Baghdad suggests more of the same.)
The MEM Jupiter-Neptune pair in Leo(strong beliefs/religious extremism), was set-off by the harsh 6/18 Mars-Saturn conjunction, and transiting Pluto(135*).

Tsunami Hits Indonesia
"At least 300 people have been killed in a tsunami triggered by an earthquake off the island of Java. The earthquake, which had a magnitude of 7.2, struck off the town of Pangandaran at 15:19 local time(08:19 GMT), causing a two-metre-high wave.
Earthquakes occur frequently in Indonesia, which sits on the seismically active so-called Pacific Rim of Fire.
On May 27, a magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit near the city of Yogyakarta in Java, killing more than 5,800 people.

"I'm not aware of anyone predicting the earthquake- but I did note that Pluto(extreme, life and death issues) was exactly on the Nadir(4th house cusp- the land, buildings) in Jakarta, at the 3/29/06 total solar eclipse. This angular placement suggests some kind of upheavals(Pluto) in Indonesia, until the next solar eclipse(9/22/06)."
The March solar eclipse hit both horoscopes for the nation of Indonesia. This eclipse squared the Nodes(shared fate) of the 1945 chart, and conjoined the Moon(the people) of the 1949 chart.

Mumbai Bombings & India

World Cup & Full Moon
Sunday's World Cup finale between France and Italy will be played in the shadow of the Capricorn Full Moon. And this Full Moon highlights all the countries in the final four, through angular planets at their respective capitals. The Sun is rising in Berlin with the Moon on the Descendant(western horizon). Uranus is on the Midheaven in Berlin and Rome. Pluto is setting in Paris(and London), while Mars is at the Nadir(lowest point) in Lisbon.
